Dear PES Families,

Our newsletter can be accessed here.

We hope everyone is off to a fantastic start to their weekend! This week we welcomed our new Pre-K Panthers to PES! They had a fantastic week and you can follow their journey on our Facebook page! Here is all of the upcoming news for PES.

We are proud to announce we will be able to offer a new club! Mrs. Emily Sherman, PES Guidance Counselor, will be the club advisor. This club is open to girls in grades 3,4, and 5. Registration is open until Friday, September 13th, and is online. The cost for this club is 25 dollars and can be paid online. So what is Girls on the Run? Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake features lessons focused on what matters most to your girl. This season, she will build the confidence to do hard things. How? By developing powerful tools to help her believe in herself, and then applying these tools to take on challenges alongside her team. Fliers have been sent home and the registration link and QR code of been emailed and are in this newsletter.

The PTO will hold it's first meeting on Monday, 9/16, at 4:30 PM at PES.

Check out our new PES Educator Spotlight! This year we will be spotlighting our PES Teachers in our front office for our community to see! In our PES Front Office we have a new showcase board, and every week this board will feature a different PES teacher. This showcase will highlight the educational and professional accomplishments of our amazing PES teachers, and the journey that has led them to our Panthers. We will also share the PES Teacher Spotlight in our newsletter every week! This week we are spotlighting Mrs. Jaime Butler! See below in the newsletter for all of the spotlight details!

PES Back to School Night will be on Monday, September 23rd from 6 to 7 PM. This event will be a time to come see your student's classroom and get an overview/updates from teachers on the new school year. The Preston Panther PTO will also be on hand for membership signups, as well as Kona Ice for all families (with proceeds benefitting the Preston Panther PTO). We will also have a local Community Schools Partner fair in the cafeteria with many of our local vendors who support PES!
