Dear PES Families,
We hope everyone is having a great weekend! Our newsletter can be accessed here.
We are pleased to announce that our annual Academic Night will be held on Wednesday, 11/20, starting at 6:00 PM! This is our most well-attended night of the year! This year, we will launch our second One School, One Book Journey on our Academic Night as Humphrey the Hamster adventures continue! We will have multiple food trucks on hand, outdoor eating, games for families, raffles and giveaways, and much more! Our Preston Panther PTO will also be coordinating our food vendors at Academic Night! This week, we will begin our advertising campaign, so stay on the lookout for social media and website blog posts, emails, and paper copies of our flier coming home very soon! We hope you can join us for this amazing night!
We thank our Preston Community, Grandparents, and especially our local Veterans for attending our recent Grandparents Day and Veterans Day program! It was a special day with smiles, laughter, and celebrations! Our grandparents were able to spend the day with their students and see what the classroom experience is like for our Panthers, and we concluded the day with the entire Preston Community joining us as we honored our veterans during our annual Veterans Day Program. We would also like to thank Mr. Neil Elin, former United States Marine, for speaking to our Panthers about the value of service. Finally, we also need to thank Mr. Ryan List and our entire PES Staff for all of their hard work and planning to make these special days possible!
Our Spirit Wear sale has been extended until Friday, November 15! Please be sure to see the details below for all ordering details!
This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Lisa Murray. Mrs. Murray has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade inclusion special education at PES for 30 years! She has a Master's in Special Education from UMES and a Graduate Certification in Autism from JHU. Mrs. Murray also has training and certifications in Lindamood Bell, Wilson Reading Intervention, OG+ Reading Intervention, and LETRS. Mrs. Murray is now planning for retirement as this is her farewell year! We are so thankful that Mrs. Murray has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride
